Well, unless you work for
Weta, of course. The Warthog above, as seen on
Pixelated Geek, was made by a company called
Custom Creations, and was built for the
Halo fan film,
Operation Chastity. That's right, it was made for a
fan film. Not to put too fine a point on it, but had we been tasked with building a Warthog, it probably wouldn't even be as good as
modified Power Wheels. Suffice it to say, it's pretty nice.
To see some pics of the Warthog's construction process -- it took approximately a year to build -- head over to the official
Operation Chastity website. The project begins filming in 2010.

the warthogs in the game use some sort of hydrogen-powered engine, with an infinitely variable transmission (which would have to be automatic). problem is infinitely variable transmissions don't exist for cars yet. also, they could have used an automatic for this, but maybe all they had to use/the best car for the job was a manual.

is the driver's side of the warthog on the right in the european versions of Halo? otherwise they screwed up.
it really needs bigger wheels though. otherwise it looks sweet.

The Warthog, like most UNSC vehicles, is designed around a modular system. This allows for the swapping out of a mounted M41 LAAG (Light Anti-Aircraft Gun), M68 mounted Gauss cannon, a 102mm SC-HE rocket turret, or a troop transport compartment. Because of this modular design, and the fact that the Warthog uses a "drive by wire" control system, the Warthog can be reconfigured to fit almost any need of the soldiers who are operating it, including changing the side on which the steering wheel is located.

Yeah they screwed up, pretty sure it's still on the left/wrong side.
Think I saw this at the MCM Expo in London last weekend. That or another awesome warthog creation. Either way, very cool.

Andyface is right, this one was at the London MCM expo yesterday and last saturday.
Had a few pictures taken with it.
And since it's in England, Maveric101 has an excellent point since the steering wheel is on the other side, compared to the rest of the world. ;)

There are more places in the world other then the UK where they drive on the left. Japan, Malta etc.
