Forza 3 limited edition premium theme not so limited anymore

We're not sure if it was intentional, or if someone at Microsoft pulled the wrong lever, but the Forza 3 LCE premium theme -- previously reserved exclusively for those that bought the collector's edition -- is now available to the masses for free. We're guessing this was probably a mistake, as the theme is only showing up on the Xbox.com Marketplace, and we were unable to find it in XBLM on an actual console. If you really like Forza, or you just like cars, you'd best get it now before someone in Redmond gets wise.

They won't pull this, they can't.

The Limited Edition VIP code which came in the LCE box was supposed to download this theme, but didn't, so they sent everyone with LCE in game a message with the URL to download this.

As xbox.com doesn't know who has forza VIP membership, they can't enforce it any other way.

Because they have to give us LCE purchasers what they promised, but unless they generated a unique code for every LCE purchaser again which downloaded the theme (which would be way too time consuming), allowing everyone to download is the next best thing.

I bougth the LCE and was a bit dissappointed that the theme didn't come as promised. I was pleased to get it and I really don't care if others get it for free as well. It isn't why I bought the LCE in the first place, it was all the special cars and extra tracks (and the cool key chain).

I don't think that themes should be charged for anyway. It is just pretty pictures for your dash and set decorations for your friend's avatars. I would think that the game developers would want you to have their theme.

The LCE also came with an air freshener for the car. After a few days I realized that it made me kind of nausious and took it down. Oh well, back to the smell of stale farts!
