Crackdown HDD installation now available
One of the conveniences introduced by the NXE last year was the ability to install games onto the Xbox 360 hard drive. Unfortunately, a select few games don't support the feature. Chief among the unsupported titles is Crackdown, Microsoft's addicting open-world action game. At least, it was until now, as Major Nelson has informed the masses that a title update is now available on Live that enables HDD installation of Crackdown.
Remember agent, installing isn't just for convenience, it's also for saving wear and tear on the DVD drive -- especially in games like Crackdown, which stream data constantly.

now if they could just make the two year old DLC free...

No kidding. Or at least depreciate it a little bit. I even emailed Major Nelson specifically asking about the lack of depreciation on those DLC's and never heard anything back. Figure I'd at least get a form letter or something... LOL

Either that or I'd be happy if they make it show I have 100% completion of available achievements. If I haven't purchased the damn additional content why are the achievements showing up in my list? Games I haven't purchased dont show up on my achievement list, same should be true of DLC.

@ Hill
I HATE how DLC achievements count against a game's completion especially if you haven't downloaded the content.
Not to mention that depending on which screen you look at, a specific game will show you having 100%.

I bet this is in preparation for releasing the game on "Games on Demand".

anyone know if theres any improvement in the loadtime?
Rhamsey @ Nov 9th 2009 4:17PM
This is great news, I love this game, and still play it occasionally. And if it helps the 10,000 hour loading times I will be so happy. As much as I love this game, some times I would sit on the dashboard ready to play, realize I have to go in 30-45 minutes and just say fuck it, by the time the game starts I'll have to leave.

After I got my Xbox repaired for the first time, Crackdown would always crash after about 5 minutes... first the screen would go black for a few seconds, then the game would freeze. Completely scratch-free disc as well. Anybody else had this problem? Hopefully this update might help with that :)
