Games on Demand has a high-price Monopoly
The electronic incarnation of board game classic Monopoly is now available on Games on Demand for ... $30?! Sweet mercy, does that have luxury and income tax on it? The board game costs less than $20 and many electronic versions can be found for even less than that.
As is our standard obligation, we'll mention that a used copy of the title can currently be found at GameStop for $25, which is still overpriced. Shouldn't this be a simple XBLA title, if anything? A $10 Xbox version of Monopoly would be lovely.

Well all the games go by the MSRP and the MSRP for that title is $30.
Still it'd be nice since there's no middleman that they reduce the price by at least 5 bucks.

I use eBay for all my used game purchases. Monopoly can be had for $15 with free shipping if you're a little patient. Up yours, Microsoft.
With that said, allow me to go back to my 360 Avatar with his Chicago Bears jersey that I purchased...

How well are the Games on Demand selling. Everytime I think of picking one up I scoff at the price. Most of the games can be picked up used for very little.
I think that there should be two price levels. Games over 2 years old, $20. Newer Games, $40.

I heard its not even that good so why purchase?

I think it's hilarious that you guys rail against the high price of the game, yet there's a link to add the game to your queue at the bottom of the article.

Can you guys start hammering MS with a ton of questions/complaints about these idiotic, asinine GoD prices...
$19.99 doesn't make a ton of sense, but $29.99 is absurd.
I'd like to know if these GoD prices will come down into the realm of sanity at some point.
Metacritic gives this game a 56/100. Anything below a 60 might as well be a zero...
Apparently you can only have 4 players and there is NO LIVE. It says LIVE on the box, even has a blurb on it in the manual ("play live with anyone anywhere"), but this game is clearly built without any XBL support whatsoever. I know they generally throw the LIVE moniker on every game, but sorry, it's false advertising here...

Apparently, Microsoft is still trying to turn them houses into hotels in Boardwalk.

I bought this in a twin pack with Burnout Paradise for £15 ($25 or so), which is FAR better value than this.

Christ even $10 is too much! Goto Some Mom & Pop's toystore and buy the board game for $4.99 =P

This price point was brought to you by the fine folks at the Marketing Firm of Ben Dover and Tak It

they all work at hasbro inc.

sounds like a fair asking price , lets be honest why shouldn't MS make any money of of this game, everyone else is .if anyone should be responsiable about this price it's hasbro, they own the game .if your going to hint that MS should have a lower price cause they have enough, that's just bad mangement. first of it cost to lic. + plus the task of getting to xbl. everyone has to be paidfor providing such service . so in short the price is not that bad.
