Tweet about Xbox Final Fantasy XIII, win a mystery prize
Let's say you want to drum up some interest for the Xbox version of a beloved RPG series that has traditionally appeared on the Playstation. What would you do? Why, use Twitter, of course! The Xbox.com Final Fantasy XIII page is holding a social media event of sorts, offering Xbox Live members the chance to win "a secret Xbox Live prize." The gist of it is pretty simple, register at the Xbox.com Final Fantasy XIII page (US or UK), then post a tweet that contains the #FFXIIIXBOX hash tag and the URL of said Xbox.com page.
Once a certain number of tweets has been reached, the prize will be unlocked. There is no indication of what the prize may be, but we're hoping for some outlandish spiky hair for our Avatar. Barring that, we'd settle for a giant sword or some bizarrely effeminate accessories.

Sorry Canadian fans, not available for us as usual.
"You cannot sign up for FF XIII White Promo - US because this program is not offered in your region."

Try changing the URL. I had the same problem but when I changed the en-US to en-GB, it let me do it.

Nope, nothing. Just got the same response. Thanks though.

Um, what?

I registered just fine. Do you actually have to use twitter to get whatever it is? Cause the wording makes it sound like you dont.
deejaymoogz @ Nov 13th 2009 5:42PM
@RadiantViper Thanks for this. I think it was sending me to the different regions of XBox.com and not to the Canadian one.
But as for the twitter aspect, I think the tweeting is their way to get free promotion and advertising from the people. Like word of mouth tactics. So in my opinion it just spreads and they have a counter to show the world the surprise item. Kinda like in BF1943 and the number of kills/deaths to unlock the maps.
deejaymoogz @ Nov 13th 2009 5:45PM
Whoa, I meant they have an unlock counter. And when it reaches that number, they show the surprise item. Sorry for the bad grammar.
RadiantViper @ Nov 13th 2009 5:51PM
No problem. So I basically just have to register my e-mail? Good cause I don't want to join twitter just for this :)

No, Canadians are not true Americans (from the USA)... yet. Hehhehheh.
LegendaryRedass @ Nov 13th 2009 5:29PM
How about an early copy of the game? You know it's ready Square.
Nik @ Nov 13th 2009 6:04PM
lol I'm so close to the US that I can throw snowballs at Detroit
Boss429 @ Nov 13th 2009 8:56PM
Haha - I used to cross the river into Canada from Detroit and wreak havoc on the bars. Good Times. Hats off to you, Canadians.
Sairus @ Nov 13th 2009 9:16PM
Bah. Not letting us Irish in. Shinanigans!
Adam M ONeill @ Nov 13th 2009 11:27PM
US only, what a suprise.
deejaymoogz @ Nov 14th 2009 1:53AM

Thanks to RadiantViper for the correct link.

It's odd. I've long since lost interest in the franchise (not due to declining quality of Square-Enix games) but just started playing games with more replayability and multiplayer, ex. Forza 3 and Borderlands. But the only thing that's ever gotten me excited for this game (not it being announced for the 360), just it having a secret item that can be unlocked on live. I NEED to know what it is.
