Free $40 gift card with Xbox and controller purchase
Through Saturday, Best Buy has a deal where with any Xbox 360 and controller purchase, they'll toss in a free $40 gift card card. In essence, that makes the extra controller free. But if you're willing to forgo color and be willing to stick with a white wireless controller, you can get an extra game out of the deal. Simply pick out your favorite Xbox 360 console, then be sure to purchase the Best Buy exclusive Viva Pinata: Party Animals controller bundle that is nicely priced at $40. Hey, free Viva Pinata is free Viva Pinata.

Circuit City liquidates gaming accessories by 30%
Circuit City's U.S. store liquidation of hit and miss deals is still trucking along and after starting off with a 10% off "clearance", we finally have reached the moderate deal level. Word on savings avenue is that all gaming accessories including Microsoft points cards and Live subscriptions are now 30% off retail prices. That is, if you can still find them in stock. Sadly, most video games are still only 10% off. Weak.Of course, your mileage may vary seeing that each Circuit City store is its own mini-liquidating ecosystem.

Free second pedal with GH: Metallica preorder
Two is always better than one, which is exactly why Gamestop is offering a second free drum pedal to those who pre-order Guitar Hero: Metallica. The second pedal comes with a splitter that'll allow hookup to a World Tour drumkit and (truthfully) you'll probably need it. The second pedal will definitely come in handy with all the drum heavy tracks Metallica has in their musical library. Darn Lars and his need to crazily stomp on nearly every Metallica track.

Circuit City stores to close, liquidation planned
We've just learned of some sad and all out depressing news coming from Circuit City. It was just revealed that all of the remaining 567 U.S. stores will be closing and all of the company's 30,000+ employees are expected to be jobless after Circuit City was unable to find a buyer after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last November. Major bummer ...The silver lining to this corporate travesty is that all Circuit City stores will be liquidating merchandise including (of course) Xbox 360 hardware and software. The liquidation could start as soon as this Saturday, January 17th, pending court approval. They may not have been the best electronics retailer, but we still loved our Circuit City and their free gift cards. What a craptacular economy.

360 WiFi adapter for $69 this Sunday on Buy.com
If you've been wanting to snag the Xbox 360 wireless adapter but unwilling to stomach the incredibly steep $99 price tag, we have good news. According to GamerDeals.net, Buy.com will be hosting a sale on the peripheral starting this Sunday, January 18 at midnight (PST) and ending January 25. The WiFi adapter price will be slashed by 30%, lowering the price to a (slightly) more palatable $69.99. Sure, it's still a far cry from what typical adapters cost, but it's certainly better.
If that doesn't float your boat, Buy.com will also be offering the red wireless controller bundle -- which includes a Play & Charge Kit -- for $42.99, a significant savings over the $64.99 suggested price. GamerDeals suspects the products will likely sell out quickly, and we're inclined to agree, so you might want to start warming up your clicking finger now.

Best Buy's $10 sale: Ninja Gaiden II, Turok & more

Holy Hannah! We aren't exactly sure how we missed the money savings event going on at Best Buy stores (we blame the unnatural alignment of the moon and sun), but we have to share even if we're a bit late on reporting. Online at BestBuy.com or in-store you can take advantage of their $10 Xbox 360 game sale. For just one Hamilton ($9.99 to be exact), you can own a new and guaranteed to be shrink wrapped copy of Ninja Gaiden II, Facebreaker, Condemned 2, MLB 2K8 or Turok. How can you say no to those deals?
If you're okay with dropping $20 on a new game, Best Buy has a few 360 titles in that price range including (but not limited to) Bad Company, UT3 and Quake Wars. Happy shopping!

Fallout 3 Collector's Edition for $50 at Amazon today
If you've yet to explore the not quite barren wastelands of Fallout 3, today might just be the day to get started. Amazon is currently offering the collector's edition of Fallout 3 for $49.98, just over $30 less than the retail price of $79.99. Lest you've forgotten, the collector's edition comes with a Vault Boy bobblehead, a 100 page art book, a making-of DVD and a sweet metal lunchbox (It also includes the game, which is important). If that sounds just a bit too paltry for your expensive taste, Amazon is also offering its exclusive Survival Edition for $109.98, a $20.01 savings over the regular price. The Survival Edition includes all the extras of the collector's edition, with the addition of a replica Pip-Boy digital clock.
Like we said, if you've been waiting to get Fallout 3, nabbing the collector's edition for less than the standard edition is a pretty sweet deal.
[Thanks, Alex]

3 months of Xbox Live free with Gears 2 purchase

Just thought you'd like to know that the always deal plentiful Amazon.com is offering a free 3 month Xbox Live subscription card with purchase of a $53.99 copy of Gears of War 2. That's a retail savings of about $20. This Gears 2 and free Xbox Live bundle offer is valid through January 13th, so be sure to decide on a purchase within' the next week or so.
Some of us around Fanboy Towers think Gears 2 is Game of the Year worthy and highly recommend a purchase. Just saying ...
