Dead or Alive 3 (5 of 14)
Dead or Alive 3
Searching for a platform that would allow Dead or Alive to advance its graphics and gameplay further, Tecmo pitched Dead or Alive 3 to Microsoft as a console exclusive to release alongside the newly announced system in November 2001. Microsoft, needing exclusive titles to break into the industry, quickly came to terms with Tecmo.
While the core of Dead or Alive 3 remained unchanged from DOA2, some minor tweaks were added, including: increased counter periods and unrestricted 3D-axis movement.
Adding new features and four new characters to the universe, Dead or Alive 3 was hailed for its accessibility versus other fighters and state-of-the-art graphics.
