Game of the Year - Gears of War 2

Gears of War 2, the Epic Games blockbuster that was sprung on us with less than a year's notice. What can be said? Insanely beautiful graphics, a fleshed out and more emotional storyline, an improved multiplayer experience and an epic feel, Gears 2 is easily the best game this year.

Admittedly, Gears 2 is not without its flaws, especially when talking about the multiplayer experience. Epic could and should have put an extra three coats of polish on the multiplayer experience, fixed the bugs and balanced the game a bit better. But that said, I still find Gears 2 to be the game I love. The game that outshines all others. The game that impressed me the most and gives me warm fuzzies. Easily the best of 2008.
