XBLA Game of the Year - Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2

For a game that just involves shooting colorful pieces of geometry, Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2 is 2008's stand out Xbox Live Arcade title. Reason being: it's addictivly fun!

Bizarre Creations did just about everything possible to increase both the fun and value factor in Geometry Wars 2. With numerous game modes, local multiplayer, gorgeous (albeit "trippy") visuals, the addition of the geom multiplier and plenty of leaderboard goodness, Geometry Wars 2 is the full package. It's that kind of game that'll infuriate you at times all while giving you a sense of accomplishment. For that, it deserves XBLA Game of the Year honors.
