Xbox 360 Game of the Year - Fallout 3

In the beginning I was worried. Hours into Fallout 3 and the experience had not grabbed me. I was frustrated with it at times and started to think that my love affair with Bethesda's latest would not bloom like it once did with Oblivion.

And then something happens. Something in the main storyline -- that I won't ruin except to say it is the player's first major encounter -- turned all of the malaise I felt toward the game on its head and then began to understand. Fallout 3 is a strange game, in the beginning you feel like you're playing it wrong. You lose health quickly and regain it, tiny pieces at a time. You get swarmed with powerful enemies and barely survive and in some cases, die. But moment to moment, there is no other game in 2008 that has captured my attention like Fallout 3 has.

The characters you'll meet, the landscapes you'll explore and the war you'll attempt to survive all make up the little pieces that create Fallout 3's incredible world. Few games can tell an intelligent story with solid gameplay and a world that aches to be explored. Do yourself a favor, play Fallout 3 and if you have ... play it again.
