New PS3 bundle includes MLB 09 The Show, Quantum of Solace movie

Just in time for Papi Day (June 21), it appears that a new PS3 bundle will release June 14, which includes MLB 09 The Show and the Quantum of Solace movie on Blu-ray. Shots of the 80GB system, which will still carry the $399 price, were sent to us by a friendly Walmart insider.
We've contacted Sony for official confirmation of the bundle, but it appears not to be a Walmart exclusive from initial checks. We also can't confirm that this bundle is the one previously discovered in the Best Buy system, as more detailed photos revealing the UPC don't match up. We'll update if we hear something back from Sony.
[Thanks, Ray]

Japan will play Quantum of Solace courtesy of Square Enix
James Bond is traveling to Japan this March when Quantum of Solace finally releases on the PS3, 360, PS2 and Wii in the region. Activision Blizzard has handed the publishing rights to Square Enix for the game's eastern release, where it will be named 007: Nagusame no Houshuu. Quantum of Solace's March 26th release date means it will be arriving a bit late when compared to the movie itself, despite it only just reaching Japan within the last week.
We're not sure how well Quantum of Solace is likely to sell in the far east, but we can presume that Square Enix thinks there's some money to be made from it. Since Activision has shut up shop in the region, handing the publishing rights over to Japanese publishers looks to become a regular occurrence. We weren't expecting Square Enix to be the first to take advantage, but perhaps sticking its name on the box will actually help increase sales.

DS releases for the week of November 3rd
If you need a game, this week's for you. While we can't vouch for the quality of all the releases (or even, uh, half), but we can say one thing: there's a lot of 'em. And by a lot, we mean dozens. Well, if you add up all the regions, anyway. Look, don't get technical. It's a lot. See for yourself.
As an aside, after seeing this week's releases, we should stop crying about not having any more Professor Layton -- the first title is only just now being released in Europe! And what's up with Korg DS-10? It's been turning up on releases for a while. Maybe we'll actually see it this week.

Is there a more boring month than November? It's like there's nothing worth playing this month at all. After the debacle that was last week, this week is completely bereft of anything even remotely resembling fun in even the most infinitesimal way. Seriously, have you seen what's coming out this week? Just take a look.

Keep in mind that DLC is locked to the game disc's region so if you buy a US game you'll need to get your DLC from the US PSN Store. Release dates are constantly subject to change. That's our way of saying "don't blame us if something gets delayed last minute."
Quantum of Solace midnight launch in West Hollywood, new Bond theme goes Guitar Hero
Tired of all the Presidential coverage? Want to go British for a day? Activision has you covered. Best Buy and Activision have revealed plans to launch the Quantum of Solace game at midnight for players in the West Hollywood area. Beginning November 3 at 10PM, everyone and anyone is invited to celebrate the launch of the upcoming shooter which takes James Bond through Casino Royale and whatever a Quantum of Solace is. Attendees will also have a chance to score a boat load of prizes ranging from gift cards between $10 and $2,500 as well as a 52" LCD HDTV.
Also on hand will be stations where gamers can practice their hand at the latest Bond theme, "Another Way to Die" from Jack White and Alicia Keys, in Guitar Hero: World Tour. The Bond theme will soon be made available as downloadable content for World Tour but no timing or price has been confirmed at this time.
Not near West Hollywood? Best Buy has revealed 136 other locations will be open at midnight for the launch sans giveaways.

Rabbids -- Raving Rabbids
The latest teaser video for Raving Rabbids TV Party is short, but entertaining. A mini-trailer, perhaps, for minigames! It's also delightfully timely! More like Quantum of Lol-ace, amirite? We're not sure what it is about these little guys. We get the routine already -- they're loud and stupid and pull faces -- but for some reason, we're nowhere near tired of them yet.
After the break, a trailer from last week that eschews movie parody in favor of actual gameplay, as well as the "happy friends in front of couch" footage we've come to expect from our Wii trailers. Somehow, TV Party interprets "wrestling" as "whacking each other with plungers."

Quantum of Solace video may cheer you up
As most of you have probably noticed, the Wii is inching toward living up to one of the great potentials of its controller: its usefulness for shooting at things! But what you may not have expected is the fact that a Bond game is looking pretty sweet. That hasn't happened too often since GoldenEye 007 set its amazing standard back in 1997.
One European Wii owner decided to perform a great service for all the world (or, uh, those who might buy Quantum of Solace), and the result is the above video, featuring (almost) ten minutes of footage from the game, that you may study it closely. Bless YouTube and all its users.
Worldwide PS3 releases for the week of October 26th

Please keep in mind that release dates are constantly subject to change, so be sure to call ahead before leaving the house. Your PS3 is happy to play any of the above titles, regardless of where they originate from, so feel free to import anything you see up there. Remember, though, that any DLC has to be bought from the appropriate PSN store so if you pick up a US copy of LBP you'll need to download future DLC (and there's bound to be a lot) from the US store. Really, it's better just to wait a week.
Joystiq gets some hands-on time with Killzone 2, Dead Space and more

Our archenemy friend with the coolest name Xav de Matos attended the Sony Holiday event in Toronto, Canada and has written up impressions of upcoming PlayStation 3 titles on our sister site Joystiq. The Killzone 2 hands-on even includes a little bit of cam footage. And best of all, because it was a Sony event, all multiplatform games played were the PS3 versions, so it is definitely worth checking out:
Joystiq hands-on: Revisiting the Quantum of Solace

- A doubting or questioning attitude or state of mind; dubiety.
- Philosophya. A methodology based on an assumption of doubt with the aim of acquiring approximate or relative certainty.
- The rational and historically-proven assumption that any licensed game will suck. Lots. Seriously, have you played half of this stuff?
