Trophies not coming to Street Fighter II HD Remix

Looks like your 2D hadouken skills won't be (virtually) rewarded. Capcom's not planning on patching Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix any time soon. In fact, Capcom's John Diamonon told PlayStation.Blog readers that "trophies were never promised for SFHD and aren't going to be implemented."

Well, looks like we're crossing that off our Trophy Portal. For those of you who want to show off your fighting skills to the PlayStation community, it looks like you'll have to stick with Street Fighter IV.

[Thanks, Dark Archon]

Super Street Fighter II HD looks slightly less appealing, to some

Maybe it's just us but Super Street Fighter II HD Remix looks hella pretty. Pretty perfect, actually. Unfortunately some videophiles may not agree as news has come out that SSFIIHDR upscales in-game character sprites and crops backgrounds when played in 16:9 wide screen. According to notorious pixel counters Digital Foundry, SSFIIHDR is scaling characters and cropping backgrounds because the game was developed to be played old school, that is to say using 4:3 aspect ratio. While we like our games pretty we just don't see enough issue and it becomes even less apparent while you're playing the game. Videophiles have a right to know, though.

X3F TV -- XBLA in Brief: Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix

This is it folks. After a long, long wait, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is finally here. If you've been waiting for the game to finally release, chances are that you don't really need this episode of XBLA in Brief to sway you one way or the other. Still, we've pledged ourselves to provide this service and, dang it, that's what we intend to do. Check out the latest episode and ponder with us just why (oh why) Capcom decided to remove any kind of CPU controlled opponents from the trial version.
