X3F TV -- XBLA in Brief: Battlefield 1943

First, we couldn't actually play Battlefield 1943 yesterday, so please forgive the tardiness of this, the latest episode of XBLA in Brief. Now that EA's servers seem to be in order, it's time to look at the new, download-only installment of Battlefield. In short, it seems pretty damned solid. Watch the latest episode and see if it deserves your 1200 ($15).

XBLA in Brief: King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match, Worms 2: Armageddon

Another twofer this week, as XBLA adds a fighting game and a turn-based strategy game to its ever-growing ranks. From SNK's huge library of fighting games, we have King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match. The XBLA version includes online play and will set you back 800 ($10). Meanwhile, Team17 has dropped the sequel to the XBLA version of Worms, which is titled, appropriately enough, Worms 2: Armageddon. The game brings lots of new features to the table -- as well as some old favorites -- and also costs 800 ($10).

Watch the latest episode of XBLA in Brief and see which one is screaming for your hard-earned cash.

XBLA in Brief: Droplitz, Garou: Mark of the Wolves

This week on XBLA in Brief, we take the trial versions of both Droplitz and Garou: Mark of the Wolves for a spin. Droplitz is a puzzle game that involves turning lots of dials so that the game's titular droplets make it safely to the bottom of the screen. Garou -- known as Fatal Fury outside of Japan -- is a fighting game from the fine folks at SNK. Watch the latest episode of our XBLA series above and decide if either game is worth your 800 ($10).

XBLA in Brief: Rocket Riot, Magic: The Gathering, Sam & Max

Now that Xbox Live Marketplace is working properly again, we finally got to try our hand at this weeks new Xbox Live Arcade releases. There are five very different games available this week. We've got the collectible card RPG Magic: The Gathering (800 / $10), the point-and-click adventure Sam & Max Save the World (1600 / $20) and even a straight-up action game in Rocket Riot (800 / $10). Check out the latest XBLA in Brief and see if any of them tickle your fancy.

XBLA in Brief: Sega Vintage Collection

This week, Sega has dropped six new games onto Xbox Live Arcade as part of its Sega Vintage Collection. These six titles are timeless classics and definitely need no introduction for Sega fans. For the rest of you, expect a crash course in Comix Zone, Altered Beast, Sonic 3, Shinobi, Phantasy Star II, and Gunstar Heroes (400/$5 each).

X3F TV -- XBLA in Brief: Yosumin Live, Wallace & Gromit episode 1

This week on XBLA, we've got a new puzzle game and the first in an episodic point-and-click adventure series. First up is Yosumin Live, the Japanese mobile phone game turned XBLA puzzler. Next is Wallace & Gromit in Fright of the Bumblebees from TellTale Games, creators of Sam & Max and the Strong Bad series. Watch the latest episode of XBLA in Brief and see if either is up your alley.

Oh, and Boggle was released this week for Hasbro Family Game Night as well. We didn't include it in the video, because we're guessing it's an awful lot like Boggle.

XBLA in Brief: Blazing Birds, Gel: Set & Match

Two very different games are available on Xbox Live Arcade this week. We've got robotic badminton (which we affectionately refer to as deathminton) in the form of Blazing Birds and a very interesting take on the puzzle genre in Gel: Set & Match. Even better, both games are actually pretty good. Check out the latest XBLA in Brief and see if either game floats your digital boat.

X3F TV -- XBLA in Brief: Texas Cheat 'Em, Star Trek D-A-C

It's Wednesday once again, which means it's time for a new episode of XBLA in Brief. We take a look at both Texas Cheat 'Em and Star Trek D-A-C. To sum things up, there's nothing spectacular this week. There might be something there for diehard poker or Star Trek fans, but the rest of us can probably save some MS Points.

X3F TV -- XBLA in Brief: Zombie Wranglers, Arkanoid Live, Space Invaders Extreme

Seemingly determined to force us to upgrade to a larger Xbox hard drive, Microsoft has again foisted three new Xbox Live Arcade titles upon us. We've got two retro remakes in Space Invaders Extreme and Arkanoid Live, and then we have a co-op zombie rodeo (more or less) in Zombie Wranglers. Watch the latest episode of XBLA in Brief and see if there's something for you this week.

All three titles cost 800.

X3F TV -- XBLA in Brief: Sorry!, Banjo Tooie, Virtual On

We've got three new games on Xbox Live Arcade this week covering a pretty broad range of tastes. We've got a board game in Sorry!, the latest addition to Hasbro Family Game Night. Then we have the classic platformer, Banjo Tooie. Topping it all off there's Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram, an arcade mech fighting game from Sega. All in all, it's a pretty full week, and an expensive one too -- both Banjo and Virtual On clock in at 1200.

Check out the latest episode of XBLA in Brief and see if any of 'em are worth a spin.

X3F TV -- XBLA in Brief: Puzzle Quest Galactrix, Flock!

It's an XBLA double puzzler this week with both Puzzle Quest Galactrix and Flock! landing on Microsoft's download service. Galactrix is a traditional puzzle game laced with the trappings of an RPG, while Flock! is more of a logic-based affair that has players herding animals into a spaceship. Both seem to be decent games and both will cost you significant scratch, with Galactrix costing $20 and Flock! clocking in at $15.

Watch the latest episode of XBLA in Brief and see if either one piques your interest.

X3F TV -- XBLA in Brief: UNO RUSH

This week on XBLA in Brief, we look at UNO RUSH, a speedy new take on the classic card game. Players have to adjust their hands quickly and play as many cards as possible on every turn. It sounds easy, but each turn is only a few seconds long, meaning you have to plan ahead. Check out the video above and see if UNO RUSH will be pulling 800 from your account.
