Developer Flat Games has rolled up on Death Tank and given it quite the free update. The patch adds 13 new weapons and 10 new tank designs, adding weaponry that was found in the classic Death Tank. The patch also adds a weekly tournament and seems designed to create a little more community involvement.
Released back in February, the robust game is a great buy for Worms fans who are looking for something a little different. The only rub is the game is 1200
, but check out the trial -- which comes with an hour of online multiplayer -- if you're even remotely interested.

Xbox Live Arcade February chart toppers
Based on info gleaned from Major Nelson's weekly Top Ten lists (sans data from the week ending February 2), GamerBytes has compiled a list of the top selling Xbox Live Arcade titles in February.
Topping the charts is the EA Sports Freestyle-branded arcade game, 3-on-3 NHL Arcade with strong showings from the pricey R-Type Dimensions and Braid (following an end of the month Deal of the Week sale). Most surprisingly was the interest in Minesweeper Flags, which hovered within the top ten for two weeks in a row -- even though every Windows PC ships with a version of the game!
Not faring as well last month were Death Tank (the Sega Saturn Duke Nukem 3D mini-game remake of Death Tank Zwei, priced at 1200
) and Exit 2, which both failed to capture much attention upon release. The Maw was a notable entry, firmly holding onto a spot all month following a January release (which GamerBytes notes is a rare feat for XBLA releases). Of course, the most important thing to take away from this is that none of the aforementioned titles were Peggle, which is everyone's new virtual cocaine. We bow to our Unicorn masters.

This Wednesday: Death Tank rolls onto XBLA
($15).Snowblind Studios' Death Tank is a remake of the Sega Saturn classic hit and features gameplay similar to Worms, but, uh, real-time and way more explosive, as is evident in the video above. With Xbox Live support for up to eight players, eight destructible environments and prettified HD visuals, Death Tank might actually be worth the price of admission. That is, if this week's release of The Lost & Damned doesn't empty our MS point stash.

Snowblind bringing Death Tank to XBLA
We told you that the awesomely monikered Death Tank had been rated for XBLA, but we've now picked up a few more details about the game. For one, it's being crafted by Snowblind Studios, the company that brought you Justice League Heroes. For another, the graphical style has been updated considerably, as you can see in a trailer after the break.
So why is Uncle Joystiq bringing you two-week old news about an XBLA game that doesn't even have a release window? Well, dear reader, it's called Death Tank. If we aren't bringing you all the available information on a game called "Death Tank," we just really don't see how we can claim to be doing our jobs.

Death Tank is ready to start an XBLA war

Germans rate Death Tank for XBLA
Here's a perfect example of why superlatives are so dangerous. Just a few moments ago we published a post declaring Vigilante 8 one of the best names for a video game ever. But then, what do we see rated by Germany's USK Ratings Board for XBLA? Death Tank. That's right: Death Tank.
This bitchin' 2D action game was originally snuck onto the Sega Saturn's PowerSlave and a follow-up, Death Tank Zwei, can be found on Duke Nukem 3D. We're hoping for updated graphics but an untouched theme song, which you can hear right after the break.
