Video: Legendary teaser without the box

Pandora's Box has been opened, werewolves roam the streets, giants crush buildings and griffins soar through the air. Welcome to Legendary.

This latest teaser trailer for Legendary, a title formerly known as Legendary: The Box, features alpha gameplay footage of death, destruction and disease (well, maybe not disease) that is making us start to believe that opening Pandora's Box probably wasn't the best idea. And, if you can get past the video's jerkiness, you'll see that Legendary is promising, but has a long way to go to to distinguish itself among the 360's highly contested FPS catalog. Though, we have to give Legendary some props. The design team did an A+ job on Legendary's logo, it's so sleek, magical and ... box'less

Legendary: The Box opens up this Summer

Pandora's Box obsessors and FPS lovers will be excited to know that Spark Unlimited's Legendary: The Box is guaranteed to be releasing onto the Xbox 360 sometime this Summer. Exact release date still unknown.

If you recall, Legendary was first introduced to us last July when we learned about the game's whole griffin, werewolf, Pandora's Box twist. Are we still interested by the game? Yes, yes we are. We're interested because the whole "killing mythical monsters that come from a box" theme still intrigues us a bit and because the newly released screenshots (gallery below) feature some crazy fun griffin killing. And here at X3F we enjoy a good griffin murder every once and a while. Press release viewable after the break.

Gamecock's E3 video roundup

Most people who spent time at the Hotel California with independent publisher Gamecock walked away with two major realizations. Gamecock actually figured out how to do this newly formatted E3 absolutely right, even though they technically weren't part of it. The Hotel California was an open door oasis with developers showing their games in casual living rooms as a breeze from the Pacific kept things cool -- the smell of BBQ also helped (which we didn't actually get to eat in all the running around). The other realization, the more important one, is that the games didn't look half bad -- actually, in many cases, they impressed us more than non-indie games we saw.

Yes, the Gamecock name still confuses people and the two pseudo-NSFW videos we have after the break add to the things that turn some people off to the company's marketing -- but once those people understand Gamecock doesn't care, it'll start to roll off their backs and make more sense. As long as their games featured in the video above are fun and sell well, that's probably the only thing Gamecock really does care about. We're definitely curious to see how their first published titles like Dementium: The Ward and Fury, which goes into beta very soon, do at retail. And we really want more info on Pandora Legendary: The Box as soon as possible.

Video: Legendary: The Box announced

Spark Unlimited unveiled their latest project which features a Pandora's Box full of mythological creates titled Legendary: The Box. The game is based around the idea that you play a thief who is hired to steal a special box from a NY museum and when you're curiosity gets the best of you, you open said box and unleash what could possibly be mankind's destruction. This Pandora's Box brings griffins, werewolves, and other monstrosities to Earth and it's your duty to shove them back into their box or send them to hell. It's a very interesting concept and quite the interesting trailer as it'll be something we'll keep our eye on in 2008. View the E3 trailer above and read through IGN's hands on preview after the jump.
