The Xbox 360's Games on Demand service is getting quite the booster shot this month, as Microsoft has announced six new titles coming to the service in October. The festivities kicked off earlier this week with the release of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Call of Duty 3. Here's what the rest of this month has in store:

There's no word on price for any of these titles right now, so we've checked with Microsoft and will be sure to update you when we hear back.

Amazon has put up listings for a new Midnight Club title called Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition. The Amazon listings fix a $30 price tag on the game, yet don't explain what the contents are. Likely, one can safely assume it'll include all of the downloadable vehicles and the South Central pack, but you know what your mother told you about assuming. She also told us to tell you that you have a new daddy now.

We've contacted Rockstar for details on what's in the package and will let you know when they get back to us.

We were always envious of the elementary school eggheads that were rewarded for their Honor Roll placement with free pies from Pizza Hut. Finally, we get our sweet, decade-old revenge from a promotion that honors things that really matter, namely: Being good at Midnight Club: Los Angeles.

To mark the release of the "South Central" DLC for the game, those that download it can compete in the "Midnight Club: Los Angeles Pizza Hut South Central Showdown" for a chance at winning $599 worth of Pizza Hut gift cards. Because that's what the world's greatest Midnight Club player needs: $599 worth of excuses not to leave the house.

Oooh, look at the PS3 with its fancy-schmancy Midnight Club: Los Angeles "South Central" DLC. Aren't you fancy! No, we're not jealous that the DLC's release on 360 -- scheduled for yesterday -- has been delayed yet again. We're content to just sit here, spinning our wheels. It's kind of fun, really-- oh, who the Hell do we think we're kidding? This sucks, and we want answers. Rockstar?

"We are currently working as quickly as we can to resolve this issue, and we will notify everyone as soon as the DLC is made available." By "issue" you mean the "unforseen," last-minute bug CVG wrote about? Know what -- these delays are starting to bug.

"Thank you for understanding and your patience. Please note that this issue does not affect the DLC on the PlayStation Network -- it is currently live and available for download." Oh, we've noted it. Right here on a list titled "Reasons We'll Be Even Less Understanding and More Impatient if the DLC Doesn't Hit Next Week." It's right under reason No. 4: "We have anger issues."

The streets of South Central will remain desolate for one more week, because Rockstar Games just informed us that Midnight Club: LA's game-expanding South Central DLC has been delayed.

Originally planned for release on Thursday, the 0 ($0) "basic" and 800 ($10) "premium" expansion DLC – which adds new neighborhoods and vehicles – will now be available for purchase off XBLM and PSN next Thursday, March 19. No reason was given for the delay.

As an apology for the DLC hold-up, Rockstar gave us a 1964 Chevy Impala ... trailer. You're forgiven?

Rockstar Games just released a new launch trailer for this Thursday's release of the Midnight Club: Los Angeles South Central downloadable content. As expected, the trailer showcases the DLC's new rides, a few of the expansion's streets and some of South Central's familiar landmarks, including Winchell's delectable donuts. Those friend rings of dough are "nom, nom, nom" good.

Thursday, March 12 is the date Midnight Club: LA gamers can expect the official release (not to be confused with the unofficial release) of the long awaited South Central DLC.

The South Central content will be available in two carbon dioxide emitting packs; one that's free and another that's paid. The free South Central Map Expansion enlarges the city 33% by adding four new neighborhoods and allows cross-play between those with the Premium content. The 800 ($10) South Central Premium Upgrade pack is full of goodies, including nine new vehicles, 26 additional races, 12 battle maps, ten delivery missions, 100+ red light races, new music and various car customization options. Looks like someone is trying to keep up with the Joneses.

Early risers were treated to an accident on Rockstar's virtual 405. According to multiple sources, someone left Midnight Club: LA's upcoming South Central DLC in neutral earlier today and it inadvertently rolled out to the Xbox Live Marketplace a bit ahead of schedule. The content has since been removed, though UGO Gamesblog reports via NeoGAF that those who downloaded the content found nothing changed, save for a partial listing of cars queued up for the DLC's eventual release. Among those sweet rides are the '09 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, '08 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X and '64 Chevy Impala.

Microsoft Europe's Xbox community manager Graeme Boyd acknowledged the snafu, writing in a statement that those who managed to snag the content should delete it as it was still being tested and "may not work properly," possibly causing problems with game saves. For now it seems eager racers will just have to wait for the content's official release sometime in early 2009 ... just sometime later than right now.

Rockstar construction crews are hard at work laying down pavement for those already bored with Midnight Club's LA streets. The developer confirmed that it will release a "South Central Upgrade Map" for free next year, adding numerous LA landmarks and a new area equivalent to about a third of what's already on the disc.

Those looking to burn a little of their leftover holiday cash can also pick up the "South Central Content Pack," which will trick out the racing game with new character competitions, races, music and that all-important element of the LA landscape: The SUV. No release date for either download has been announced, though Rockstar notes that Xbox 360 and PS3 racers can look forward to rolling down the 105 Freeway sometime in early 2009.

The South Central Upgrade Map DLC will be a free download and encompass about a third of what Los Angeles offers. Nestled inside the new map will be additional competitions, races, music and new cars (including an SUV) to cruise around new locations like the Shrine Auditorium and Crenshaw Plaza. Free DLC rocks ... get it? Rockstar ... rocks, yeah ...

Thought Midnight Club: Los Angeles was a wee bit too difficult for you? Well, normally, we'd just tell you to man up and force you into a non-stop 16 hour Midnight Club gaming marathon to improve your skills.

But you lucked out and won't have to go through such verbal and physical torture, because Rockstar just released a Midnight Club: LA title update that improves the AI so that it dynamically adjusts to your skill level. The patch also adds additional leaderboards and quickens the multiplayer match searching process. Kids these days ... man up.

This week, Best Buy is giving away a free drum shade with purchase of Rock Band 2 bundle and Target is selling NBA Live 09 and SoulCalibur IV for $55. Over at Circuit City, they're giving out free $15 iTunes gift cards with purchase of Fable 2 (LE), a free strategy guide with Far Cry 2, a free t-shirt with the Rock Band 2 bundle and a $10 gift card with Midnight Club: LA. Circuit City is also selling GTAIV, Mercenaries 2, The Force Unleashed and Madden 09 for $45. Have fun shopping.

Even though the release list for this week is painfully long (for our wallets, at least), we can't help but feel that something is missing ... Nevermind. When you see this week's releases you'll have no trouble putting the week-long delay of LittleBigPlanet at the back of your mind. Release dates are constantly subject to change, so be sure to check with your local store if you're uncertain. Also, feel free to import your games from other regions -- your PS3 loves exotic food. But keep in mind that DLC always needs to be purchased from the corresponding region. So if you have a US copy of Rock Band 2 you're going to be buying your tracks from the US PSN Store.

With the release of Rockstar's Midnight Club: Los Angeles rapidly approaching this October, don't expect to see any demo gracing the Xbox Live Marketplace. Or even split screen multiplayer. According to AddictGaming, a Rockstar rep informed them that neither split screen will be included or a game demo will be releasde for Midnight Club: LA. Something about a demo not being able to fully encapsulate what is the Midnight Club experience ... blah, blah, blah ... sure.
