It Came From Uranus, alright (new media)

So ... you want more Rocketmen media? Capcom's not giving up on the poorly-reviewed PSN downloadable. It's offering an expansion next week ... and unfortunately, you'll have to pay for it. For some bizarre reason, some of you really enjoyed Rocketmen. We enjoyed watching this trailer of the It Came From Uranus expansion more than actually playing the game. Maybe because this video actually had more production values (like music) than the original game.

Rocketmen expands and It Came From Uranus

Capcom recently announced that Xbox Live Arcade game Rocketmen: Axis of Evil will be getting an expansion on Wednesday, May 14th, even though nobody really asked for it.

The Rocketmen "It Came From Uranus" expansion pack (whose name coincidentally makes twelve year olds roll on the floor with uncontrollable laughter) will add three new weapons (Blobber, Beamer and Bomber), two new secondary weapons (Falcon and Screw Bomb) and three new levels. The worst part is that this expansion will cost you 400 Microsoft points on top of the 800 points which are required to spend on Axis of Evil. An amount that we doubt most XBLA fanboys would be willing to spend.

X3F TV -- XBLA in Brief: Rocketmen: Axis of Evil

The new video version of XBLA in Brief is back this week, taking a look at Rocketmen: Axis of Evil. Despite having one of the more unique names on Xbox Live Arcade, Rocketmen turns out to be yet another omni-directional shooter. You know, move with the left stick, shoot with the right stick. Rinse, repeat. It does throw a few extra bits into the mix, namely an RPG upgrade system that lets you level up your character and weapons. It's not bad, but it's definitely not great. Also, it's worth noting that the "ending" of trial version could use some work. Worth 800 points? Based solely on the trial version, we say no. Check out the video for our full impressions.

Rocketmen: Axis of Evil blasts onto XBLA

We finally made it to this week's hump day and as with every hump day before it, we are greeted with a brand new Xbox Live Arcade release. And this week we're being treated to A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. Games' Rocketmen: Axis of Evil, which is available today on the XBLA for a cool 800 Microsoft points. Early reviews are mixed to whether or not Rocketmen is "good times" or "bad times", but we're confident in your abilities to garner your own opinion. Download the trial or make the purchase, just don't blame us if Rocketmen ends up being a dud.

Rocketmen: AoE this Wed, new screenshots too

We just received official word from Microsoft that Rocketmen: Axis of Evil will be making its way to the Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday, March 5th for 800 Microsoft points. And yes, we know we pretty much confirmed this week's release last week when Capcom sent us an early word. But we figured we'd remind you and because we have new Rocketmen screenshots as well. New screenshots showing off some of the gameplay, cel-shaded cut scenes and (gasp) the character selection screen. Oh, and guess what? They're in the gallery below. Surprise!

Rocketmen: Axis of Evil rockets to XBLA next week

Capcom and A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. Games just sent word that their, announced way back in April '07, XBLA game Rocketmen: Axis of Evil will be gently landing on the XBLA next Wednesday, March 5th. Capcom also included a few new screenshots (galleried below) and from what we can tell, we're in for some cel-shaded arcade shooter shenanigans. Rocketmen: Axis of Evil will set you back 800 Microsoft points and supports four player co-op locally and over Xbox Live as well as fully customizable character creation. Let's hear it fanboys, "Rocketmen GO!"
