This is the 'Cardboard Tube Samurai' in Tekken 6
Picked up by way of the Gamertag Radio forums from the alleged Twitter account of Tekken 6 -- we know, we know -- it was confirmed this afternoon that the image you see above of Penny Arcade's Cardboard Tube Samurai is, in fact, the real deal. Where, you ask? Well, of course, Mike "Gabe" Krahulik's Twitter account, where he twote, "Yes this is for real. Cts costume will be in Tekken 6!"
He is, of course, referring to the Cardboard Tube Samurai and probably not the cartoon time-traveling simulator we already know will include everything in the universe. Take a look after the break for the exciting Twitter snapshot where Gabe revealed the truth.

CLAMP designing costumes for Tekken 6, anime fan girls squee
Tekken 6 continues to get more bizarre. Famed all-female mangaka group CLAMP (known for Cardcaptor Sakura, X/1999, xxxHolic, Code Geass) is designing new costume designs for Namco Bandai's upcoming fighter. Here, we see Jin wearing a wardrobe that would fit perfectly in CLAMP's Tsubasa Chronicle.
Obviously, the addition of one of the most popular shoujo groups in Japan is meant to increase Tekken's appeal beyond male gamers. In fact, the high-pitched ringing you may be hearing right now is the sound of thousands of anime fan girls squeeing in unison whilst holding onto Kero-chan plushies.

Joystiq hands-on: Tekken 6 (PS3/360)
This was our first experience with the game, not having access to an arcade willing to shell out beaucoup bucks for a machine. But we'd played enough Tekken in the past (most recently, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection on PS3) to be able to get a feel for this new installment. So, what makes it worthy of being one more than five? find out after the break!

Tekken 6 also pummeling PSP
The PSP revival continues.
According to a new report by IGN, Namco Bandai is bringing Tekken 6 to the PSP. Not only will the PSP version launch alongside the console versions, it will feature exclusive content, such as additional items and stages. Tekken 6 will also feature a "Ghost" Infrastructure mode, which allows players to download and share character data to compete against.
It's great to see Namco Bandai throw PSP some support. So long as the team can match the high standards of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, PSP fans have a lot to look forward to.
[Thanks, Jay!]

Street fighting in new Tekken 6 screenshots
The fighting genre has come back. In 2009, players will be able to finally decide between Street Fighter and Tekken -- which brawler will reign supreme?
Namco Bandai's latest batch of screens feature the same over-the-top characters and moves the series is known for. However, we're still a bit concerned. Although the release is many months away, we can't help but be underwhelmed by the visuals here, especially after Namco Bandai's 2008 effort, Soulcalibur IV.

Street Fighter IV producer wants to see Tekken in Home
What business does Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono have in wanting to see Namco's flagship fighter Tekken and PlayStation social network service Home come together? Ono told Famitsu (via IGN) that he'd like to see a Tekken 6 tie-up with Home, suggesting that both the Street Fighter and Tekken communities could form some sort of cross-community tournament. A sort of Fight Club perhaps? Those guys at Capcom sure love those, don't they?
Speaking of Fight Clubs, Ono also revealed the possibility of a Street Fighter-themed game space. With Capcom already working on exclusive content for Home, this one is practically a given. Now, we just need to see if Namco wants to respond to Ono's invitation. Go ahead and press start Namco, we'll cue the "New Challenger" music.

Tekken 6 punching PS3, Xbox 360 in Fall '09
Tekken 6, the latest in Namco Bandai's seminal fighting series, will be delivering a body blow to consoles next fall. Oh wait, you say, we already knew that. True, Microsoft confirmed last October that in Fall 2009 Feng Wei, Devil Jin and the rest would strike the Xbox 360 across the face. In addition, CVG reports that the game will get an equal bout on the PlayStation 3 at the same time.
The announcement was made during a recent event put on by Atari, which will publish the title in Europe on both platforms, adding yet another marquee feather in the once-struggling company's hat. Next year is shaping up to be a memorable one for fighting game fans with Street Fighter IV and Tekken 6 going toe-to-toe. So tell us, where do you place your bets?

Atari unleashes Tekken 6 and Riddick screens

As part of today's press conference, Atari unloaded a bunch of fresh screenshots for next year's upcoming Tekken 6 and Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. You can view the Tekken and Riddick screens below, but be warned about those Riddick screens. If you thought Gears of War was lacking color, then keep clear of Riddick's drab and dull "color" palette. Actually, it isn't so much a color palette as it is a black to white gradient.

TGS 08: Watch the Tekken 6 trailer
Surprising almost no one, Tekken 6 has been officially announced for a fall 2009 release on the PS3/Xbox 360. The new English language trailer takes us to the magical world of Tekken, where kangaroos and pandas can hold grudge matches against fat people. Who says games aren't art?
